The state of Ohio is home to the largest population of Amish in the U.S. However, their beautiful handmade quilts are known around the world.
All of these crib sized quilts have been purchased at local Amish shops in the Ohio coountryside. None of these quilts have been specially ordered or designed. All are the original ideas and handiwork of the Amish women who so lovingly sew them.
These quilts are made in Amish homes and are quilted through from front to back. The easier to make “quilt tops” which are then machine sewn on to a lining are the invention of outsiders who are attempting to minimize the time it takes to make one of these little masterpieces.
Because these quilts are purchased at a variety of Amish owned shops, each quilt is truly one-of-a-kind and once it has been sold, you will not find an identical quilt on this site. For that reason, we cannot accept custom orders. We wish to provide authentic Amish craft born out of their own lifestyle and imagination.
